![]() ![]() I also keep some cook books on the altar as well, one that my Mom gave me, and one that I borrowed from her and never had the chance to return it to her. ![]() There are still old bobbins, spools, other sewing notions, and some surprises like prayers and Psalms that my Mom stored in the drawers. ![]() The sewing machine is an antique pedal style Singer passed down from my late Mom, and it belonged to her Mother and Grandmother before that. I'm sharing a photo of my altar to her below. But the combination of the herbal mixture and connection to Madama are what gives it the power behind Madama's broom to sweep away the bad things and make way for the good. Fragrance is indeed a powerful thing, and our sense of smell is connected to our psyche, emotions, mindset, memories, outlook, and spirituality in a big way. Very Southern and down to earth, homey, comforting, and powerful in combination. It is a combination of comforting home fragrances that come from the kitchen, along with essential oils of powerful roots, healing herbs, garden fragrances, and flower bed fragrances. But I can tell you the fragrance is simply amazing, and you have to smell it to believe it. Like any Rootworker, Witch, Voodoo Practitioner, whatever they may prefer to be called, I don't share my formulas. And because of this connection to her, I have added a couple of new and very expensive oils to the traditional La Madama formula that will really help you connect with her. I feel as though she, along with another Helper are always watching over me in my shop as I perform Rootwork for my clients.Īnd, in the past couple of months she has blessed me and looked out for our best interests in a big way. Madama has been very good to us this year, and I continue to honor her with an altar in my shop, as well as a window sill altar in my kitchen. ![]()
